About

Living art. Endlessly curated. Designed for generations.

Isabel Stone Studios was founded on the belief that landscape work deserves the same rigor and creative ambition as any other art form. From Aspen to Snowmass and beyond, we partner with clients who think in seasons and the long view.

Maintenance, construction, design, container gardens, interior plantscapes, and holiday work live under one roof, held to one standard. Our approach is editorial: considered, cohesive, and rooted in place. Every detail is chosen with intention, refined for the way you live, and built to last.

Meet the Team

  • Rio Crandall, Co-Founder / Creative Director

    Rio Crandall

    Co-Founder / Creative Director

Some careers are chosen. Rio's was inherited — and then reimagined. Raised in a family landscape business, she learned the industry from the ground up. After completing her degree at Chapman University, she returned home to help lead the company — until it sold, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of something harder to define. Rather than step away, Rio went deeper. From 2018 to 2022, she joined a landscape architecture firm, where she built out the construction and maintenance division from the ground up. It was formative work — the kind that sharpens both skill and perspective. Isabel Stone Studios was born from that full arc of experience, and from a belief that the landscape industry was ready for something different. A studio where creative vision and operational excellence aren't in tension. Where the client experience is as considered as the design itself. Where a strong team culture isn't a byproduct of success, but the engine of it. As co-founder, Rio leads with intention — building the systems, standards, and culture that allow Isabel Stone to do its best work, and to keep raising the bar for what this industry can be.
